I suppose this shall be the longest post before the end of the year. Beware, TONS OF PICS ahead!

Kowabunga Camp! I really had fun with the kids, and as expected, I got bullied. But it's ok, it's all for the fun! XD

Here are some proofs:

I'll just skip to the part where camp just started.

Teacher Taufiq introduced us to the kid and vice versa, and we got assigned to our respective groups. I got Group 1. I'll tell you who they are later.

The first game has us split into boys and girls, and 2 groups for each. And the objective is to untangle yourself after getting a hold of your friend's hand opposite of you, no same 2 hands. From there, untangle so that you'll form a (distorted) circle.

Apparently these guys have some ego issues, and they took such a long time to untangle themselves. The girls manage to beat them twice.

After that was tent building!

After like 30mins of sorting things out, our tents are finally pitched inside the crammed room that is the tuition centre itself.

Next was outdoor activities!

First was the One-Leg In. Whatever the name is called, I forgot. =( Objective is basically to have all the team members only 1 leg in the hop, and the other in mid air for a set timing.

Getting ready. Look at the little dude's face. HAHA!

"See me drink my water through the strap!"And the game starts!This is my team! =)Sarina's team. Ceriam and.. the other twin. I think it's Michelle. They have the exact same clothings ALL the time. Haha.The caterpillar race is next. Every member behind the leader has to have their hands holding the ankle of the person in front. When the race starts, they have to synchronise themselves and move as a team to reach the packet of balloons and then back. Upon reaching 'home base' reach member has to blow up the balloon to at least a minimum size and tie the balloons. I don't really remember the whole procedure but the whole team has to burst their own balloons in the quickest time possible.

Because of miscommunications leading to wrong cues, everyone started bursting their own balloons. Haha.

I didn't know when was the time we started creating our own flags, so i'll just put it into this timeline.

Each member are given colouring materials, design their own flags and a group name in the process.Sakinah's group discussing. Some people were not paying attention... Haha.Looks like Sarina's group are really into it. Somehow.My group. Most of them are really into it. But I had to control them to take turns designing the flag. Farid, was being a pain. Haha. Good pain. Not bad.Farid eerily reminds me of the joker. o.o

Next was a communication game. Their team members are blindfolded and has to listen to instructions given by their team leader in order to reach the hidden wooden block. What amazed me is that even though we had our games under the block and there are many pillars, none of them banged into them. XD Well, we had to make sure they don't bang into them in the first place. Heh.

He's damn ecstatic that it's finally lunch. Lunch was okay. Everyone is supposed to eat at least a piece of lettuce, but I didn't. Somehow managed to get away with it. Heh. Kudos to Mei Xuan for asking for a few more pieces of lettuce. And give a big "Aww..." to Sarina for forcing herself to eat the lettuce just so her 'kids' would be motivated to eat theirs. Haha.

After lunch was a quite a long break for us facilitators. Or rather, self-declared. I had to take a break after all the shouting from cheering on my team lovely team. Not just that, the inside of my throat was stinging, like a dozen needles poking on the inner walls of the tube. But I just kept quiet and observed them doing their stuffs.

They were given small slips of paper where they would write down their goals for 2009.After that was like PBL-based learning. But their topic was "Why am I smart?" Each is given a single piece of mahjong paper and they have to create a mind map, on 'what I should do to be better?', 'what not to do', 'what I want to achieve' and the likes.And after that 'mind-blowing' lesson, it was time for the main event: trip to Little Guilin for Flag Wars and Find the Marshmallow.

*=(* is nervous...Can you find the marshmallows? I know I can't.Too bad I didn't have a partner. This game reminded me of the time we had a W26K chalet but I didn't participate as well due to some 'medical' problems. =( Well, at least it was fun seeing them having fun.

Look at the joy on their faces. Even the facilitators and the committee had a fun time 'bullying' them. Haha. =DWell, maybe not tubby here. =( After getting flour-ed by the the kids and the others it was the game I have been anticipating. The Flag Wars! Basically the aim is to capture the enemy's flag while avoiding the water cannons from the enemies and being it back to home base. If you get hit by the water bombs, you're out.

I was in charge of defending the base so it wouldn't get stolen. And I manged to smack right one at the back of Timothy, when he was trying to charge in from the right flank.

It was wet and wild all right. And thankfully, I didn't get wet. Although our plan was somehow foolproof, we got ourselves in third place. But hey, all in the name of fun. =)

It's the giant!Missing the place already... Nah.And here comes the unexpected part: suddenly Teacher Su handed the kids a bag of flour. And all hell broke loose. Well, my back was puffy white, though I couldn't see it, so I didn't bother about it much. Teacher Taufik got 'flour-ed' the most. Haha! After that we went marching in the white parade, all the way back, with Teacher Taufik leading the band.And here's the masterpiece created by the artists that is the kids of Kowabunga!It was strictly bath time when we returned back to the tuition centre. As for us the facilitators and the commitee, we have to get started with dinner.

The girls took this opportunity to take a group photo.And those who has finished bathing can start preparing their dinner. After dinner was skit. The topic was 'My Dream Classroom'. We managed to come up with something despite all the chaos. And I was the narrator.After that was another one of the main events. That is the night walk. But this night walk is not those typical walking around a specific route. There's a twist to that as well. Each team is a room where their names are hidden. They have to then find their respective names while trying to keep cool. And the whole place is dark. At first we were spooked out, as we had to find a spot OF OUR OWN. And i somehow denied taking other places other than the counter, as it is near the door. I managed to scare a few of the kids, even the teachers as well. Most of the time I did was just stoning, and grabbing hold of their ankles when they walked past by. I grazed my knee in the process. =(

Night Walk was definitely fun. Haha!

This is Ceriam and Michelle. Twins! XDAs the night walk carried on slowly, the teachers start to quicken the rate at which people would go in, because it was taking too much time, due to some of the kids not being able to find them. But eventually, everyone managed to participate in the night walk.

And after that was lights-off, or they could choose to watch the movie Wall-E. I took the opportunity to bathe, since I couldn't find the time to do it earlier. Most of them decided to watch.I didn't really sleep much throughout the night, other than to make sure the kids are soundly asleep, it was !@#$%^& cold. I only managed to catch a few hours of sleep and a neckache. Heh.

When the lights were on, my god, it was already very noisy. It was time for the morning run! Halfway through, I took the opportunity to go to 7-11 and buy 2 bottles of Peach Tea. Haha.Aftere the relaxing (surprisingly) walk/run/whatever, it was already time for bath. As usual, we the adults were the last few people to bathe, me being the last. Haha. I sat around with the kids talking about random stuffs.

Finally my turn came... I just came out. And before you ask, no, that's not a used pampers i'm tying up and throwing it away. Ok that didn't come out right...

We didn't manage to participate on our last door activity which is the Dog N' Bone game due to time constraints. And because of that, our self-declared last activity, the house building. But to make room for that, we had to start packing our tents. Our team had trouble stuffing the dead kid into the bag, the part where we wasted the most time on. Well, Teacher Su gave us a hand, and finally we got it zipped up and dumped it into Little Guilin. Heh.

Objective: Build a house using only unwanted newspaper and 1 roll of scotchtape. And the house must be able to stand and occupy at least 1 person. Our style is supposed to look like a kampung house, but it looked like a deterioriating bench. =(

It was fun anyway. Haha. After that we had to lean up the mess. And wait for the ending of the camp, which is the debrief.

Then the tallying of the scores came with a conclusion. Dark Knight came in first, Gangstarz 2nd and Eagle 3rd. It was good fun. =)

We did our own team cheer, which is what I wanted to do for the Cheesecake cheer, but anyway, it turned out well. =)

It was sad that it finally came to an end, but it was really worth it. I hope that we will have another one next year. =)

So here's a 'basic' summary of the happy (and mostly the funny) times we shared with the kids during the camp. Even though it's only a 2D1N camp, we made full use of it, and it was worthwhile.
